Flush and Barrel Bolts

Flush and Barrel Bolts

Flush bolts and barrel bolts are types of bolts used for securing doors and windows. Both types of bolts are designed to be installed flush with the surface of the door or window, so they are not visible when the door or window is closed.

Flush bolts are typically used on double doors, where one door is inactive and the other door is active. The flush bolt is installed on the inactive door and is used to lock the door in place. When the active door is closed, the flush bolt is engaged into the strike plate on the frame, holding the inactive door in place.

Barrel bolts, also known as slide bolts or surface bolts, are used to secure a door or window in place. They consist of a cylindrical barrel that houses the bolt, which slides into a strike plate or catch installed on the frame. They can be installed vertically or horizontally and are often used on interior doors and windows.

Both flush bolts and barrel bolts are available in a variety of materials and finishes to match the decor of the door or window they are installed on. They are relatively easy to install and can provide added security and peace of mind for homeowners and business owners alike.
