Intumescent Strips

Intumescent Strips

Intumescent strips are a type of fire protection hardware that are designed to expand when exposed to heat, helping to seal gaps around doors and windows in the event of a fire.

These strips are made of a special material that swells up when it is exposed to high temperatures, such as those generated by a fire. The expansion of the strip fills gaps and seals the opening, helping to prevent smoke and flames from spreading to other areas of the building.

Intumescent strips are typically installed around the edges of doors, windows, and other openings in walls and ceilings. They are available in a variety of sizes and thicknesses to fit different types of gaps, and can be made of materials such as silicone, graphite, and intumescent foam.

When selecting intumescent strips, it is important to choose the correct size and thickness to fit the specific gap that needs to be sealed. It is also important to ensure that the strips are installed correctly, as improper installation can reduce their effectiveness in the event of a fire.

All intumescent strips and fire graded products provided are certified and fire rated, for your safety.
