The ball shape mortice door knob is a solid brass round knob on a rose, used on internal doors fitted with a mortice latch or sashlock. Sprung on one side, it suits period and traditional homes where knobs rather than levers are preferred.
The knobs fit a spindle through the mortice latch, one on each side of the door. The spring on one side helps return the knob and latch to rest after use. Fit a matching escutcheon where a sashlock is used.
