About the Beeswax finish

Beeswax is the most traditional finish with a soft, natural aesthetic featuring subtle blue and deep red ochre tones which are preserved in the steel during the manufacturing process; this finish is ideally suited to older, traditional dwellings and cottage interiors. Beeswax products are hand forged from mild steel. After forging, the subtle colours in the metal are preserved by dipping the products in hot beeswax, resulting in the soft, matte richness.

Care and maintenance

Due to temperature changes or packaging, a Beeswax product may occasionally show signs of a white bloom upon opening. This can be buffed with a soft cloth to remove. Although this finish already offers a very strong barrier against environmental conditions, we recommend re-applying a small amount of the 'Maintenance Wax' (33002) periodically with a cloth or brush which provides additional protection to the surface of your product and further protects this from any harmful external elements. To increase the mechanical life expectancy of your products, we recommend regular oiling of all moving parts using the ‘3-in-1 Oil’ (92337). This process is also highly recommended during initial installation. *Please note that where possible we recommend using the External Beeswax products (in place of standard Beeswax) in areas of your property where damp conditions are expected such as kitchens and bathrooms. Light surface rust may appear if using the standard Beeswax finish in damp conditions, but can be removed with ease using 00 grade wire wool, followed by an application of 'Maintenance Wax' (33002).
