The Avon night-vent locking casement fastener secures a side-hung casement either closed or slightly open for ventilation, useful in bedrooms overnight. The four-sided Avon design is shaped by hand with a series of hammer blows and suits both contemporary and traditional timber windows.

It locks in the closed position and in two open positions to let in some air. The reversible design includes two keep plates for left and right hand windows, and it locks by grub screw. Suitable for weather-stripped windows; supplied with matching stainless steel wood screws.

About the Polished Bronze finish

Polished Bronze is a bright, highly reflective finish with an abundance of character and warmth. This finish really pops when used in contemporary settings with bold colourways, adding visual interest and contrast. The Polished Bronze is manufactured from solid bronze containing a minimum of 85% copper. The finish is first aged, then repolished to create subtle contrast between the lighter surface areas and darker patina which gathers around the edges and recesses. To preserve the bright, reflective finish a durable lacquer is applied during the final stages of manufacturing. Bronze will naturally darken over time, however the bright reflective finish can be restored by polishing with a beeswax based furniture polish if desired.

Care and maintenance

We advise against the use of chemicals, and other harsh cleaning products on this finish as it may affect the lacquer. We recommend using a dry cloth, or a beeswax based furniture polish to restore shine as the Bronze will naturally tarnish and darken over. This will help remove dirt, fingerprints and watermarks, while offering some protection. An oily cloth can be used to wipe over the finish from time to time to remove any harmful deposits that build up on the surface of your product, this will also aid protection against any environmental elements. To increase the mechanical life expectancy of your products, we recommend regular oiling of all moving parts using the ‘3-in-1 Oil’ (92337). This process is also highly recommended during initial installation.
