From The Anvil Avon Casement Stay 254mm (10") - Aged Brass

The Avon casement stay is a 254mm (10") window stay for holding a side-hung casement window open. Its simple four-sided bar is shaped by hand with a series of hammer blows, so it suits both contemporary and traditional timber windows.

A 278mm stay arm on a 45mm x 16mm fixing plate gives an overall length of 299mm. The stay matches the Avon window fasteners and lever handles and is the middle of three sizes. Supplied with matching stainless steel wood screws.

About the Aged Brass finish

A popular choice for Period homes and interiors; The Aged Brass finish offers a characterful warmth and works beautifully, creating a real statement when used with deep, dark paint colours, and materials & textiles synonymous with luxury and abundance. Manufactured from solid, unlacquered Brass, the Aged Brass products undergo an accelerated ageing process before surface areas are repolished, creating a striking contrast between the darker patina left around the edges and recesses, and brighter surface areas. As an unlacquered, 'living' finish Aged Brass will continue to oxidise, meaning it will darken over time. If the product becomes too dark or tarnished, it can be polished to restore the brighter finish on surface areas.

Care and maintenance

This finish will continue to oxidise and age as it is an unlacquered finish, meaning it will darken over time. If the product becomes tarnished or too dark, it can be restored to brighten the finish. We recommend polishing with a dry cloth or alternatively using the ‘Brasso’ (73102), which assists with the cleaning of solid brass products. An oily cloth can be used to wipe over the finish from time to time to remove any harmful deposits that build up on the surface of your product, this will also aid protection against any environmental elements. To increase the mechanical life expectancy of your products, we recommend regular oiling of all moving parts using the ‘3-in-1 Oil’ (92337). This process is also highly recommended during initial installation.
