From The Anvil Universal Door Bolt - 102mm (4") - Aged Brass

The Universal door bolt is a 102mm (4") multi-purpose bolt for doors, windows and other uses around the home. A choice of keeps is supplied with the bolt, so it can be fitted to suit the frame, and it works both horizontally and vertically thanks to its strong spring mechanism.

The 100mm x 25mm fixing plate carries a bolt with a 15mm throw. A receiver plate, receiver bridge and angled keep are included for different fitting positions. Supplied with matching stainless steel wood screws.

About the Aged Brass finish

A popular choice for Period homes and interiors; The Aged Brass finish offers a characterful warmth and works beautifully, creating a real statement when used with deep, dark paint colours, and materials & textiles synonymous with luxury and abundance. Manufactured from solid, unlacquered Brass, the Aged Brass products undergo an accelerated ageing process before surface areas are repolished, creating a striking contrast between the darker patina left around the edges and recesses, and brighter surface areas. As an unlacquered, 'living' finish Aged Brass will continue to oxidise, meaning it will darken over time. If the product becomes too dark or tarnished, it can be polished to restore the brighter finish on surface areas.

Care and maintenance

This finish will continue to oxidise and age as it is an unlacquered finish, meaning it will darken over time. If the product becomes tarnished or too dark, it can be restored to brighten the finish. We recommend polishing with a dry cloth or alternatively using the ‘Brasso’ (73102), which assists with the cleaning of solid brass products. An oily cloth can be used to wipe over the finish from time to time to remove any harmful deposits that build up on the surface of your product, this will also aid protection against any environmental elements. To increase the mechanical life expectancy of your products, we recommend regular oiling of all moving parts using the ‘3-in-1 Oil’ (92337). This process is also highly recommended during initial installation.
