From The Anvil Reeded Night-Vent Locking Casement Fastener - Polished Brass

The Reeded night-vent locking casement fastener is a window handle for casement windows with a Regency-style reeded end. Forged from solid brass and hand finished, it lets the window be secured shut or held slightly open for airflow, which is useful in bedrooms, kitchens and bathrooms in both period and modern homes.

The fastener locks in the closed position as well as two open positions that allow some ventilation. Its reversible design uses a single keep plate that suits both left and right-handed windows, and it is suitable for weather-stripped windows. Matching stainless steel wood screws are supplied, and it matches the Reeded range.

About the Polished Brass finish

Polished Brass is a simplistic, classic finish most synonymous with use in traditional period properties and interiors, yet works well paired with light colours and subtle textural details to achieve a luxurious, more modern aesthetic. The Polished Brass products are manufactured from solid, unlacquered brass. Bright and reflective when polished, although as an unlacquered, 'living' finish it will continue to oxidise, meaning it will darken over time. If the product becomes too dark or tarnished, it can be polished to restore the brighter finish.

Care and maintenance

This finish will continue to oxidise and age as it is an unlacquered finish, meaning it will darken over time. If the product becomes tarnished or too dark, it can be restored to brighten the finish. We recommend polishing with a dry cloth or alternatively using the ‘Brasso’ (73102), which assists with the cleaning of solid brass products. An oily cloth can be used to wipe over the finish from time to time to remove any harmful deposits that build up on the surface of your product, this will also aid protection against any environmental elements. To increase the mechanical life expectancy of your products, we recommend regular oiling of all moving parts using the ‘3-in-1 Oil’ (92337). This process is also highly recommended during initial installation.
