From The Anvil Secure Sash Window Stops - Pack of 4 - Polished Brass

The Secure Sash Window Stops - Pack of 4 are lockable stops fitted to the frame or box of a sash window to restrict how far the sash can be opened. They add security to upper floor windows, particularly in homes with children, and are insurance compliant. They are made to match the other sash window furniture in the collection.

Four stops cover two windows, or one window set up for night-venting: fit the third and fourth stops 100mm above the first two to allow a restricted opening. The stops are non-load bearing, so not subject to BS EN 14351-1. Matching SS wood screws are supplied.

About the Polished Brass finish

Polished Brass is a simplistic, classic finish most synonymous with use in traditional period properties and interiors, yet works well paired with light colours and subtle textural details to achieve a luxurious, more modern aesthetic. The Polished Brass products are manufactured from solid, unlacquered brass. Bright and reflective when polished, although as an unlacquered, 'living' finish it will continue to oxidise, meaning it will darken over time. If the product becomes too dark or tarnished, it can be polished to restore the brighter finish.

Care and maintenance

This finish will continue to oxidise and age as it is an unlacquered finish, meaning it will darken over time. If the product becomes tarnished or too dark, it can be restored to brighten the finish. We recommend polishing with a dry cloth or alternatively using the ‘Brasso’ (73102), which assists with the cleaning of solid brass products. An oily cloth can be used to wipe over the finish from time to time to remove any harmful deposits that build up on the surface of your product, this will also aid protection against any environmental elements. To increase the mechanical life expectancy of your products, we recommend regular oiling of all moving parts using the ‘3-in-1 Oil’ (92337). This process is also highly recommended during initial installation.
