The Fulton & Bray sash strike plate for sash stop is the plate fitted to the sash window to receive the bolt of a sash stop. It protects the timber where the stop engages and gives a neat finish, and is used when fitting new sash stops or replacing worn plates on traditional sash windows.
The strike plate is fixed to the sash at the point where the sash stop bolt engages. With the stop set, the sash can only be opened as far as the plate allows, which is commonly used to restrict window opening for ventilation and safety.
