The Intumescent Hinge Pad 100 x 30 x 0.8mm is a thin graphite-based pad fitted behind a hinge in its rebate on a fire door. When the material reaches its activation temperature of 180 degrees it expands to many times its original volume, filling the void and helping to stop fire and smoke passing the hinge.
It is used with corresponding hinges, locks and latches as part of fire door compliance and carries an FD60 rating, blocking fire and smoke for a minimum of 60 minutes. Multi-directional expansion and pressure give structure and integrity to the filled rebate, and the pad is 3rd party accredited for hardware protection.
